To be united in praise, filled with wonder in the face of Creation
To merge with the silence, filled with awe in the face of life
To simply Be, filled with love at being alive
To sense, just for a heartbeat, what life is
Our small guesthouse, built in 1611 and situated directly at the shore of the Chiemsee, is open to guests searching for retreat and contemplation. Architectural it was still never changed. This simple, static construction gives a special atmosphere that invites you to pause and reflect.
An important aspect of Benedictine life is hospitality. Benedict devotes a whole chapter of his Rule to the receiving of guests, who "are never lacking in a monastery...."
We gladly take guests on for days of meditation and contemplation. They are invited to participate in our liturgy of the hours.
It is also possible to arrange a conversation about spirituality with one of the sisters.
Women who are considering entering our abbey are welcomed to get knowledge of our life.
